How to Play Aniimo

Quick answer: You play a Pathfinder on the continent of Idyll. Capture creatures with Aniipods, build a team of five roles (DPS, Healer, Support, Breaker, Regen), and use Twining to fuse with an Aniimo for combat, traversal and puzzles.

Your first hours

Pick your starter — Helion or Lunara. Lunara is the popular pick for raw damage.
Follow the Pathfinder tutorial — it teaches capturing, the Twine mechanic and your first missions.
Capture early catches — Emberpup, Celestis, Skippy and Budclaw around Nimbus Fields are all strong early catches.

Capturing (Aniipod)

Aniipods capture wild creatures at quality tiers: Common, Good, Elite and Perfect. Higher quality means better stats — long-term players chase Perfect captures. Capture rate varies by creature.

Twining, explained

Twining is Aniimo's signature mechanic: you fuse with a captured Aniimo and see the world from its perspective, using its abilities for:

Combat — two modes: Command (your team fights) and Twine (you control the creature directly)
Traversal — flying, digging, sprinting, climbing
Puzzles — e.g. Budclaw's Tunnel breaks rock obstacles, Celestis reaches high ledges

Combat basics

Each Aniimo has four skills plus an ultimate, fueled by EP.
Roles matter: DPS (Stellarys, Fulmintis), Healers (Glacy, Glameep), Breakers (Geoclaw, Wavwal, Budclaw), Supports (Melloblum, Eklue), Regen (Leafy, Somniwing).
Elemental chart: 9 types. Super effective = 1.6x, resisted = 0.625x, and each element resists itself except Dark. There are no immunities.
Linkblasts add team synergy attacks.
