Troubleshooting

Quick answer: most launch-week Aniimo issues fall into a few known buckets — connection drops, black/red screen rendering, crashes, update errors and reward delivery. Several rendering and quest bugs were already fixed in patch v1.0.3544783.0, so update first, then work down this page.

Update first

Patch v1.0.3544783.0 (Sep 18–19, 2026) fixed a batch of launch bugs before troubleshooting further:

  • Red screen / red-eye rendering errors on some GPUs
  • Terrain bug blocking Butterfly Shadows collection in "The Land Where Dreams Come True"
  • Soft-lock with the Unstuck command in two-player Sanctum puzzles
  • Unreachable chest positions

Disconnect / Reconnect

Aniimo is always-online. On a disconnect:

  1. Wait for the automatic reconnect — the client retries first
  2. Check your connection to the nearest server region (EU 04:00 UTC / Americas UTC−4 / Asia UTC+8 daily reset times show which shard you're on)
  3. Restart the client if the reconnect loop spins for more than a minute
  4. Launch-week server strain is real — peak was 127,914 concurrent players on Steam

Black Screen

  1. Update your GPU drivers — most launch black-screen reports trace to driver issues
  2. Verify game files on Steam
  3. If you're on a multi-monitor setup, try a single display first
  4. Red-screen/red-eye variants were patched in v1.0.3544783.0 — update before anything else

Steam Controller

Official workaround for controller issues on Steam:

  1. Open Steam Settings → Controller
  2. Disable Steam Input for Aniimo (use the game's native controller support)
  3. If the controller still doesn't register, restart Steam and replug the controller

Sanctum Revive Failure

If your active Aniimo fainted multiple times in a Sanctum and won't revive: this was a known bug fixed in patch v1.0.3551601.0 (Sep 19). If you still hit it, the official workaround is exit and re-enter the current scene.

Crash

  1. Update GPU drivers
  2. Verify game files
  3. Close overlays (Discord, Steam overlay) as a test
  4. Check the official known-issues list — crash causes announced by the devs get fixed in patches, not workarounds

Update Error

  • The Sep 16 background update (~1 GB) downloads on next launch — if it stalls, restart Steam and relaunch
  • Patch notes live in the in-game Announcements tab; if your client is outdated you'll be prompted to update before connecting

Beta Reward Egg Issue

Beta/pre-registration rewards (including eggs and the pre-reg milestone rewards) are delivered to in-game mail — no codes needed. If yours is missing:

  1. Open the mail menu and check the claim button — rewards sit in mail until claimed
  2. Pre-reg milestones were all unlocked (30M+ pre-registrations): Glimmer ×200, Aniipod Ultra ×2, Companion Promise avatar frame, Sunlit Meadow outfit
  3. Twitch Drops rewards must be claimed within 30 days of the drop
  4. Still missing → account support, not a code issue
