Aniimo Diamond Egg Heist PvP mode

Aniimo Diamond Egg Heist — PvP Rules, Carrier & Team Guide

Read this first: the mode's availability is unconfirmed. One guide states that Egg Heist PvP is not currently playable and that only the PvE version is live. Press coverage and other guides describe Diamond Egg Heist as the squad PvP mode shown during the Global CBT. The rules below are the CBT-era ruleset; treat them as "how the mode is designed to work," not as a live queue description. Check the in-game mode list before planning around it.

Quick answer: Diamond Egg Heist is a squad race, not the PvE extraction event. Teams fight to reach a diamond egg and Twine it first; the player who Twines becomes the carrier, loses combat ability, and must be escorted to an extraction point. The carrier can be stopped by draining its energy, which drops the egg for another squad to claim.

Is this the same as Operation: Egg Heist?

No. Operation: Egg Heist is the PvE extraction event with Chaos Mode and Prismana Egg drops. Diamond Egg Heist is the PvP variant: squads compete against each other for one objective instead of racing the environment. The names are close enough that guides mix them up, so check which mode a page is actually describing.

Match format

FieldReported rule
TeamsUp to six squads of three (18 players)
EntrySolo, or a pre-made squad of up to 3
Entry limitNone reported
ObjectiveReach the diamond egg and Twine it first
Win conditionExtract the egg

Source level C. The six-squad figure is the most commonly reported format, but at least one source describes two teams and another describes a PvEvP race on Lost Isles. The precise player count is not settled — do not treat 18 as confirmed.

How the carrier works

  1. Reach the egg. The first squad to make contact contests it.
  2. Twine it. The player who completes the Twine becomes the carrier.
  3. The carrier becomes the egg. It loses combat abilities for the duration. It can still roll, dash, sprint and jump, but it cannot fight.
  4. Teammates escort. The carrier's squad has to keep enemies off it; the carrier cannot defend itself.
  5. Energy is the health bar. If the carrier's energy reaches zero, the egg drops, and another squad can claim it.
  6. Extract. The squad that gets the egg to the extraction boat or point keeps it.

Source level C — consistent across the PvP write-ups, but not confirmed by an official rule page.

This is why the mode rewards escort play over solo carry. A squad that wins the first Twine but does not screen the carrier usually loses the egg on the rotation.

Extraction and personal objectives

  • Each player must complete one personal objective before they can extract individually — either submit one Aniimo Egg or collect a set number of Eggshell Coins.
  • The exact Eggshell Coin quota is not published. Check the objective tracker in-match.
  • Eggs extracted by any squad member are reported to be mailed to each teammate, so a support player who never touches the egg still gets loot.

Source level C/D — the "mailed to each teammate" behavior is community-reported and worth confirming on your first successful run.

Death penalty

  • Fainting, dying, or failing to extract can permanently lose your backpack, loot, and equipped Heist gear that is not covered by a protection item.
  • Beginner protection is reported to cover the first three matches at lower ranks.
  • Protection items exist specifically to cover gear you cannot afford to lose.

Source level C — this is the single most expensive rule in the mode. Do not bring gear you cannot replace until you have confirmed how protection works on your account.

Combat rules in the mode

  • Only your slot-one Aniimo is directly controlled in combat.
  • Slots two to four can each use one core or support skill; they are not fully playable.
  • Build accordingly: your slot-one pick is your fighter, and the other three are there for a single utility button each.

Source level C.

Roles that fit the mode

RoleWhy it matters
Healer (e.g. Glacy)Keeps the carrier and the frontline alive through the escort
Ranged kiterApplies pressure without standing in the fight; good for peeling
Control / peelRoots, sleeps and knockbacks buy the carrier distance
CarrierAny slot-one build with mobility; combat stats matter less once carrying
Escort DPSPunishes anyone who commits to the carrier

The mode rewards speed to first contact, CC and peel, and carrier survivability more than raw damage. A high-DPS squad with no peel usually loses to a lower-DPS squad that escorts properly.

Team composition — role template, not a tier list

There is no published best team, and the mode's availability makes testing hard. Build for coverage:

  • One healer — the carrier cannot heal itself.
  • One control/peel — the answer to a melee collapse on the carrier.
  • One ranged damage — pressures the enemy carrier from outside the scrum.
  • Mobility on the carrier — dash and sprint uptime beats a slow tank.

Community-discussed picks lean on Glacy for healing and ranged, mobile Aniimo for the carrier role. Treat named comps as player strategy, not requirements.

Is the mode live?

SourceClaim
One community guideEgg Heist PvP is not currently playable; PvE only, no date given
Press / CBT coverageDiamond Egg Heist was shown as the PvP mode during Global CBT
Other guidesDescribe it as a live squad mode with six teams

Resolution: unconfirmed. The most likely explanation is that the mode was available in CBT and has not been confirmed for the live build. This page will be updated when an official mode list or patch note says either way. Do not spend protection items on a mode you cannot enter.

FAQ

Is Diamond Egg Heist available now?

Unconfirmed. One guide says Egg Heist PvP is not currently playable; CBT coverage describes the mode as shown. Check your in-game mode list.

How many players are in a Diamond Egg Heist match?

Reported as up to six squads of three, but some sources describe two teams. The exact format is not settled.

What happens when you Twine the egg?

You become the carrier. You turn into the egg, lose combat abilities, and can only roll, dash, sprint and jump while teammates escort you.

Can the carrier fight?

No. The carrier is the objective, not a combatant. Its energy is effectively its health bar.

What happens if the carrier dies?

The egg drops and another squad can claim it. That is why escort matters more than the first Twine.

Do you lose gear in Diamond Egg Heist?

Reported yes — backpack, loot and unprotected Heist gear can be lost permanently. Beginner protection covers the first three matches at lower ranks.

Is Diamond Egg Heist the same as Operation: Egg Heist?

No. Operation: Egg Heist is the PvE extraction event; Diamond Egg Heist is the squad PvP race. See the Operation: Egg Heist guide.
